3 Tips for Better Portraits and Headshots

In this blog I thought I would focus (an overused photography term), on getting more out of your Portrait or Executive Headshot sessions. Three things to remember are:

  1. Be relaxed! For some reason my clients always seem to relax quickly around me, but I know that’s not always the case for everyone who sits in front of a camera. The worst thing is a photograph of someone who looks stressed and uncomfortable, plus I always think people look older when they feel uneasy.
  2. Know your best side. We all should know which side we look best, for me it’s my left, camera right. Tell your photographer your preferred side, it’s not vanity, it’s just trying to get the most flattering photograph of you.
  3. Decide what you are going to wear for which shots early. Avoid creating panic and delays the day of your shoot by planning ahead. If you have my VIP Package it means three     outfit changes and an hour shooting. Choose which top, shirt, tie, jacket you will wear for each style before hand and things will run smoothly.

There’s four things really- #4 - Don't forget to smile!

Hope that helps, look for some more tips on getting more out of your Executive Headshot Photography Session soon. Have a great weekend!
