Finding the right photographer for your Wedding Day can be a little challenging.Read More
Looking at my schedule for January and into February and it's looking like a great start to 2019! I was looking at upcoming garden wedding photography assigments later this year.
Rustic Country Style Weddings
I love the relaxed feel of rustic country style weddings. In some ways it makes my job a little easier because there are usually lots of cool, natural bakcdrops that I can pull into my couples wedding photos.
With outside weddings and garden or rustic country weddings I always like to have a plan B in place well before the wedding day.
At Jashira and Giovanny's wedding, see attached photos, we had the threat of a major tropical storm. Our plan was to move the reception to the large covered deck at the back of her parents house in Acworth, very close to Kennesaw, Georgia, in the event of a downpour. Luckily everything went off without a hitch.
Fun, as it Happens Wedding Photos
Thinking about their rustic, country style wedding and all of the fun, documentary style photos from Jashira and Giovanny's wedding, reminded me that I have never shot a wedding at a barn - perhaps a goal for 2019!! Or, if you are having or considering a Rustic Country Barn Wedding let's talk!
As I am writing this, I'm thinking about a few of the wedding venues near me that are barn wedding venues where I have not photographed weddings yet. The ones I'm thinking of are, Rustix Manor, The Rock Barn, The Farmhouse at 30542 to name a few. I'm sure there are tons of other outdoor wedding venues around here that I may not be aware of.
Photos shown were shot in Kennesaw, Acworth and Locust Grove Georgia including The Grande at Kennesaw and a barn in very rural Georgia! Let me know if you have any questions - Chris
Wedding photographers styles are so different across the board! I've been told my style is creative or artistic. I think I offer a unique style for my couples in that I can quickly adjust their stance to create a more natural looking and stunning portrait. I love documenting the day as it unfolds, then recreating the wedding day in chronilogical order for wedding albums.
The accompanying images were shot at The Kennesaw Grande, Kennesaw, Georgia. I can see a lot of influence from one of the photographers I respect, Jerry Ghionis from Australia in some of my photography.
Getting Ready Shots
I love to create unique getting ready photos for my couples and I always take time to look around the room, window light and furnishing to get ideas to create something special. One of the photos here was shot at Little Gardens in Lawrenceville, near Atlanta in Georgia and reminds of Yervant's style.
Wedding Dress Details
This photo shot at Rock Springs Presbyterian Church is one of my favorites. I love the light, the bride interacting with the bridesmaids who are helping get the dress buttoned up.
New Wedding Venues
Super excited this first week of 2019 as I have weddings coming up this year in three wedding venues near me that I've never shot at before. Embassy Suites in Kennesaw, Georgia, Juliette Chapel in Dalonaga, Georgia and The Magnolia House, Powder Springs, Georgia
Have a great weekend, let me now if you have any questions - Chris
The Grand in Kennesaw is large Victorian-style wedding venue with a very intimate feel. I love shooting weddings in the lush gardens and surrounding structures. There are so many little spots to capture all the memories of your special day. Additionally, the outside ceremony spots with seating are gorgeous. I love the barn and have successfully photographed weddings from outside looking in and inside the barn also.
Conveniently located on Main Street, close to downtown Kennesaw, the Grande in Kennesaw offers lots of parking, easy access and some of the friendliest, efficient event staff around. Minutes from I-75, Kennesaw State University with lots of hotels like my favorite Embassy Suites Kennesaw which has a Ruth's Chris Steak House within the hotel.
The Grande in Kennesaw offers unprecedented opportunities for your first look! The are so many secret little places to get that first glimpse. I love planning first looks with my couples to make that special moment extra special.
In my experience it's hard to beat the dishes that they serve up! The food from main to dessert, is absolutely delicious. The staff are on the ball where dinner, cake cutting, toasts etc are concerned. They offer great packages for food options and are super accommodating when guests bring in cakes etc.
On your wedding day timing is everything and having a manageable timeline is key to everything going off without a hitch. I work closely with the Grande's staff to keep my couples weddings on schedule. Stress levels are usually non-existent with close communication between myself, (the photographer), The Grande's entertainment staff and your other vendors.
Large or small, destination or close to home wedding, the Grande in Kennesaw has a lot to offer. Let me know if you have any questions.
Smith-Gilbert Gardens in Kennesaw, Georgia is one of the Atlanta Metros hidden gems. Imagine having your wedding photography shot in this unique, small wedding venue within a botanical garden.
Living in Kennesaw myself, Smith-Gilbert Gardens is a wedding venue near me that I love and visit often.
I've shot many, many times at Smith-Gilbert Gardens and I can, from experience say that there is definetley something for everyone and it is constantly changing with the seasons.
Engagement photography sessions are so special here, as I can always find a super cool backdrop for my couples what ever the weather or season. Depending on the couple, I might stay in one fairly close area for the whole session or spend a little time just wandering around with them and capturing the mood as it unfolds.
With awesome opportunities for pre-ceremony photography in and around the Hiram Butler House (ca.1880) this small Georgia Wedding Venue offers so much. If "First Look" is on your agenda, I would love to help you plan, execute and document this special moment before your wedding ceremony.
Bridal & Groom Portraits
After the ceremony wedding photography can be so relaxing here in the tranquility of the garden. I think it's a moment for newly-weds to catch their breath and let me create some stunning portraits for them in a more intimate setting.
Let me know if you have any questions or visit my website and I'll be happy to help.
Should you bring your pet to your wedding? How will your dog react to all the guests?
Hmmm, well here goes. Being an animal lover it’s easy for me to answer “yes - I do!” and I know without question we would have had both of our now Social Media famous rescue Pugs at our wedding if we had them at that time. However, I think we would need to be careful about over committing with Spanky who is blind and 14 years old, but very active and adventurous. Bodie the the other rescue Pug, loves to get dressed up with his bowties and waist coats and will sit and pose for me. Spanky does really well too, as long as there’s a “snackie" for his modeling fees!
That said, I think that if you and your spouse to be have a pet that you absolutely adore you should have them in the wedding ceremony - after all aren’t our pets like family? As Martin Clunes (Doc Martin fame) says “They love us so much, we are entangled in this centuries old relationship with our dogs, the least we can do is feed them and look after them”.
I’ve not had the pleasure of shooting a wedding with dogs in the ceremony, but I think some of the cutest, emotion filled wedding photographs I’ve seen have the Bride and Groom interacting with their dogs. I say, if the venues right go for it!
