The Grande at Kennesaw Georgia Wedding Getting Ready

Some of the most cherished and loved memories of your wedding day are your getting ready photos. The Grande at Kennesaw is such a great wedding venue as they have excellent facilities for both the Bride, Bridesmaids and also the Groom and Groomsman.

Bridal Suite

The upstairs bridal suite has great light, even on a cloudy day that comes through the large windows. There's a full bathroom with a vanity and two large window which throw awesome light into the room.

The large main room have lots of room for makeup artists etc. and is well lit for working.

Hanging the Dresses

There is a large walk-in type closet to hang the gowns which makes it perfect for me, the wedding day photographer to easily get for wedding dress shots.

Landing and Stairs

The landing and stairs at the Grande are large and open which has afforded me the ability to photograph dresses, shoes, rings etc right close to the bridal suite. Additional, the door to the balcony is at the top of the stairs adjacent to the bridal suite.

Grooms Room

Down in the lower level is the grooms area. Equipped with a TV, bathroom and large sofa and chairs for the guys to hang out in. There are a lovely areas just outside for the guys shots. I love the big wooden doors and the rock wall for the groomsman and groom photos.

Location

Located on Main Street close to downtown Kennesaw and very close to Smith-Gilbert Gardens the Grande really has a lot to offer for newly engaged couples looking for a great wedding venue nearby or as a destination wedding venue.

Rock Spring Presbyterian Church, Buckhead, Georgia - Wedding Day First Looks

Rock Springs Presbyterian Church is a 150 year old stone built church in the Buckhead area of Atlanta. It was a warm, late spring day with early clouds giving way to brilliant sunshine that flooded into the building through the large antique windows as I began to document the bride, groom and rest of bridal party getting ready.

Wedding Venue

The church, surrounded by lush gardens and a super courtyard in the middle of the buildings which became an awesome location for Heeyoung and Daniel's "First Look". Rock Spring Presbyterian has lots of nice features that are tucked out of the way and serve as great photography spots.

Timing

With the ceremony time fast approaching, we had a narrow window to setup and shoot the first look. With Daniel and the groomsman facing the little gate in the corner near the fountain, I had Heeyoung and the bridesmaid quietly walk into the courtyard.

At just the right moment I told Daniel to "turn around and look at your beautiful bride". There were a few seconds of silence, then smiles and tears of happiness from both of them as they hugged and kissed each other.

The Bridal Party

I did notice the wedding party wiping the odd tear away too! As for me and my second shooter, well let's just say I always have a pack of tissues in my camera bag for first looks! I love First Looks and documenting the emotions around a special moments like these, I think are priceless.

The Weather

The weather was changing from clouds to sun faster than a British summer! which meant we were getting a little sheen coming off the bridal party's faces. I quickly grabbed some paper blotters for them and that did the trick and kept them all looking great. Being a PPA, Certified Professional Photography the changing light and challenging situations are never a problem.

Rock Spring has fun, traditional yet contemporary feel and I love photographing in wedding venues like Rock Spring Presbyterian Church.

AWESOME WEDDING FLASHBACK

Recently I was thinking about a wedding I shot a few years ago. Stacy and Clint got married in Gainesville, Florida at Jolie Events, which is a beautiful venue in the middle of town, near The University of Florida. It was one of the most fun weddings I’ve shot and even the weather played ball on a hot midsummer afternoon with normal prone to pop up thunderstorms.

The bride and groom prep

Stacy got ready in the onsite Bridal Suite with her family and friends, the atmosphere was so calm, probably due to Stacy’s meticulous organization. There were a few tears of happiness and  I’m sure all the change about to happen, during the prep time. She then went down the stairs and walked the short distance to get to where the ceremony was to take place.

The guests were arriving as Clint was still getting ready with his family.  At this point, time was feeling like it was running short. Clint got ready in the on-site Grooms Suite. He travelled to the ceremony in his truck. He drove from North Carolina to marry the woman of his dreams after a long distance relationship that had been over a couple of years. Now a few years on, I feel I didn’t miss a beat even though there was a lot going on in a short space of time.

The Vows

The ceremony was an intimate affair at Jolie Events. And although fairly short in duration the ceremony was emotional and absolutely lovely. The decorations reminded me of a Greek Temple at dusk for some reason. During the ceremony, they had a beautiful reading. It was so tearfully emotional as it was read by Stacy's daughter.

The Dinner

They had their first meal together as husband and wife in the big room along with all of the guests, which was such a great idea. Personally, I liked the way they were able to see their families and friends during the meal and to interact with them also.

Before the dancing and celebrations began I took Stacy and Clint out of the facility, around the corner to a wall of graffiti that I saw when I arrived in Gainesville and spent about 15 minutes creating some memorable photographs like this one.

The first dance was a good old traditional wedding shuffle, and they finished off the evening with a ‘last dance’  and hugs, kisses, tears laughter and every emotion you could think of all in the space of about 5 minutes!

BEAUTIFUL RAINY DAY ATLANTA WEDDING AT LITTLE GARDENS

If you love Garden Wedding Venues then you’ll adore this Atlanta, USA wedding spot!

Simone and Derek got married at the gorgeous Little Gardens Venue, Lawrenceville, Near Atlanta in early March 2018. It was planned to be outdoors in the back garden, however, Mother Nature did not cooperate at this wedding. With beautiful flowers and music and a super cool atmosphere, the rain did not stop anyone having a blast! - particularly the Wedding Party.

Getting ready

Simone got ready in the bridal suite with her sister, Crystal, and Mother, and there was such an exciting vibe. Time was tight as the weather and traffic slowed the journey down. She wore a beautiful white gown with tons of intricate detail and looked so. She then walked with her Father in to get to the ceremony. The family and guests were ready, waiting and watch along with the groom and best man as they made their way to the altar.

Derek got ready in the Grooms Quarters with John, Best Man and Simone's Dad. He wore an awesome looking vera wang tuxedo, with a black bowtie and shirt, and looked really dapper. The groom traveled to the ceremony in his Chevy truck which is pumped up with a super-charged Corvette Engine and transmission - he got there fast - lol!

The ceremony

The ceremony took place on the venue grounds under the covered porch area in front of the waterfall and pond. The ceremony area had a really cozy feel even though it was raining on an off and a little chilly, which was so perfect because it was an intimate gathering. The wedding ceremony began with Simone’s brother Matthew, who's an opera singer, singing as the bride and her father walked into the porch area. All eyes were darting from the Bride to the Groom as they stood nervously in front of the Minister and I carefully photographed their emotion-filled wedding ceremony.

Simone and Derek chose to have their wedding at the Little Gardens Venue because it’s close to where some of their relatives live and a 6-hour drive from their home in Florida. Little Gardens Venue was the perfect destination wedding spot for them.

I loved this destination wedding so much as even with weather challenges they had a contingency plan. I really enjoyed photographing in somewhat challenging conditions and creating images that will be lifelong memories.
