Arriving early at the Grande in Kennesaw gave me an opportunity to spend 15 minutes shooting around the exterior of the popular wedding venue close to the Atlanta Metro. The idea was to try to capture some of the little details that are often missed. The Grande is part of The Conservatory at Waterstone in Acworth.
The Bridal Room
I started in the in the bridal room with Taylor getting ready with her maid of honor Morgan. Taylors little sister Ava was also there with the big girls getting ready too. The Grande in Kennesaw has an awesome set up for the bridal party. As an Atlanta Wedding Photographer I love comfortable, well lit bridal suites - it makes the getting ready photos look awesome.
Rings, Shoes and Dress
Was next in line! I found a fairly well lit area in a doorway and hung the dress, shot it and thought it was quite boring and normal. I looked for somewhere different to create a unique photo. i decided to hang the dress from the top of the stairs landing and shoot down the dress to create a different look.
The rings on the box worked great and the box was to be used later in the ceremony.
The Groom and Groomsman
At the Grande in Kennesaw there's a "man cave" downstairs which is just perfect for the guys to get ready and hang out in. I shot a few frames of the guys and Alex's Grandfather, then headed outside. I took a quick opportunity to shoot Alex's cufflinks - one of my favorite mens clothing designers- Joseph Abboud!
Taylor and Alex had arranged for us to go to Smith-Gilbert Gardens for some formal photos of them and the bridal party. Smith-Gilbert Gardens is a magical, botanical garden right in the heart of Kennesaw, which is so close to Atlanta and one of my favorite photo locations for Wedding Photography in Kennesaw. We shot for about 20 minutes then headed back to the Grande in Kennesaw in time to touch up and on to the ceremony.
