Bring more outfits than you think you might need as I might see something that would work great for you. White dress shirts are fine – I don’t find light bouncing off collars an issue.
When selecting tops and shirts it’s often best stay away from short-sleeves and loud patterns. If you always wear bright colors and patterns no worries we’ll work with it – it’s very rarely a problem.
Comfort is key! Does what you’re planning to wear give you a comfy, cozy feeling and that cozy feel will transfer to your portraits.

If I’m completely honest, the majority of us, me included, are camera-shy! But, remember, as my clients, it’s not your job, concern or worry to be photogenic! Posing my clients to look natural, relaxed, approachable, confident, intelligent is an area where I excel. Coupled with my way of relaxing my clients while in front of the camera – the headshots look natural, not posed even though they are.
When selecting backdrops I take in to consideration my clients natural color, eye color, what they’re wearing but the most important thing is your objectives. I love to shoot to a dark background, think of the great masters like Rembrandt, always a dark background so the viewers eye goes straight to the subjects face – exactly what we want!
